Welcome to the Geopolitical Garden at Almedalen!

On June 24th, beyond intent will be hosting a seminar in the Geopolitical Garden at Almedalen!

The theme for the seminar is ‘Resilient Supply Chains in a Turbulent World’ and joining us on stage are;
Anders Ahnlid, Director General, National Board of Trade Sweden
Måns Molander, Nordic Director, Human Rights Watch
Marie Trogstam, Head of Department Sustainability and Infrastructure, Confederation of Swedish Enterprise
Axel Aloccio, President, NHIndustries
beyond intent’s Found Partner Erica Molin will be moderating.

In preparation for the seminar we have written articles that call attention to the importance of this theme, and why we find it relevant to discuss right now. The texts highlight how Europe's competitiveness is threatened by global changes and the need for common European strategies. In this time of geo-economic transformation, long-term, flexible processes are required rather than a focus on individual outcomes.

Acute threats are forcing Europe and European companies to adapt quickly to a changing geopolitical and economic reality. He suggests that the EU should increase investments by 800 billion euros annually and emphasizes the importance of coordinated policies. Read the full article here.

At the same time, developments indicate that Europe is lowering its ambitions on climate and human rights, which could threaten future competitiveness. Political developments in the US, especially linked to Trump, also pose increased risks for Swedish companies, which therefore need to adapt their strategies. Read the full article here.
